Hip Arthroscopy and Periacetabular Osteotomy in Patients 45 Years and Older Have Similar Outcomes to a Younger Cohort: Articular Cartilage Status Is the Primary Determinant of Outcome
Hip Arthroscopy and Periacetabular Osteotomy in Patients 45 Years and Older Have Similar Outcomes to a Younger Cohort: Articular Cartilage Status Is the Primary Determinant of Outcome Abstract: Staged or combined hip arthroscopy/periacetabular osteotomy has typically been reserved for the younger patient with co-existing hip dysplasia and labral pathology and/or cam type femoroacetabular impingement. In carefully selected patients with little to no arthritis over the age of 45, results are similar to a younger cohort of patients.
